Who knows if this is a theory, but I’ll give it a shot. Whenever I’m feeling that my creativity isn’t flowing properly, I rearrange stuff.

Having issues playing your guitar? Change something. Play standing up. Swap out a pedal. Change picks. Change gauge of guitar strings. Play with a slide. Play with your eyes closed. Play with only your middle and pink fingers.

Weary of the food you are making? Rearrange the spices. Move things around in the fridge. Choose ingredients with your eyes closed and only by sense of smell.

Brian Eno did this type of thing with his Oblique Strategies card system. Seems like a lot of work just to break a few habits. Maybe he is prone to creative blockage? Whatever works!
